What is LMYB?
Linn-Mar Youth Baseball (LMYB) is dedicated to providing an opportunity for students in the Linn-Mar School District, or children of employees of the Linn-Mar School District to play competitive baseball and developing players for the high school program. LMYB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since 2004, LMYB has been creating a positive environment for children throughout the local Marion, Iowa, area. Our volunteer coaches create a positive environment where kids of all skill levels learn baseball fundamentals and develop life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience through healthy competition.

Please join Linn-Mar Youth Baseball in supporting our Linn-Mar community with a gift that contributes to the educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the community. Your gift supports an extra- curricular activity that Promotes Sportsmanship, Baseball Fundamentals, and Encourages Teamwork in teaching life lessons and contributing to the total growth of nearly 400 of our youth through the opportunity to play baseball.
Practice / game facility rental and individual player equipment costs make baseball one of the most expensive youth sports programs. Costs continue to increase. Surprising to many, the families of 25% of Linn-Mar students are at income levels that qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. The all-volunteer LMYB Board is committed to reduce the cost to play to players/parents, striving to eliminate cost as a barrier to doing so. Community support from individuals and local businesses is a key element to doing so.
With our all-volunteer organization and no paid staff, 100% of your gift goes directly to providing the opportunity to play. Let's make a difference together!

Potential Tax Benefits
Check with your financial adviser or accountant as your donation to any 501(c)(3) organization, LMYB included, may be tax deductible:
- Charitable contributions made directly to LMYB may be deductible if you itemize deductions on IRS Form 1040
- Charitable contributions made directly to LMYB may be deductible beginning in 2026 even if you take the standard deduction of IRS Form 1040
- Qualified Charitable Contributions (QCDs) directly from your traditional IRA to your charity of choice, like LMYB, may avoid taxes on that withdrawal once you reach age 70-1/2, and may also count against any Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for which you may be obligated
- A charitable contribution from a Donor Advised Fund seeded with money from your IRA may likewise avoid taxes on the IRA withdrawal(s)
- Appreciated stock donated directly to a qualified charity may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation, and may be tax deductible if the stock has been held for at least a year
