About the Trainers:

Fielding and Hitting: Kyle Huckstorf

Kyle Huckstorf is a former collegiate and professional baseball player with a passion for developing hitters and fielders of all levels. He began his college career at Iowa Western Community College (2019–2021), one of the top junior college programs in the nation, where he helped lead his team to multiple successful seasons. Kyle then continued his career at the University of Iowa (2021–2024), competing in the Big Ten and gaining a deep understanding of high-level hitting and player development. After college, Kyle went on to play professional baseball from 2024–2025, where he gained first-hand experience working with elite coaches and understanding the physical and mental demands of hitting at the next level. Now, Kyle brings that same knowledge and experience into his training focusing on helping players move better, think better, and hit with more confidence and power.

Pitching (8U-10U): Chris Handke

Chris Handke is a former collegiate athlete and minor-league pitcher. Originally from Bellevue, Iowa, Hanke attended Bellevue High School. Handke then attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, where he excelled both on the basketball court and the baseball mound while majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. In the 2009 MLB draft, Handke was selected by the Dodgers in the 41st round and he spent three seasons in the Dodgers minor league system. Chris lives with his family in Marion and has a son that will be a 7U player with Linn Mar Youth Baseball this upcoming season.

Pitching (11U-14U): Mike Russ

Mike Russ is a trusted name in player development across Eastern Iowa. He takes a holistic approach to training, guiding pitchers to grow in mechanics, strength, and skill. His sessions blend technical instruction with physical conditioning and strategic insight, ensuring athletes develop as complete pitchers — not just throwers. For over 15 years, he has worked with youth pitchers through the college level, helping them master mechanics, build velocity, and develop the mental edge needed to compete at the next level. Hundreds of his pitchers have reached the collegiate ranks, with athletes earning spots at Junior College programs as well as NCAA Division III, Division II, and Division I schools. His track record reflects a deep understanding of the recruiting process and a commitment to long-term development.

Catching: Austin Andersen

Austin Andersen is a former Linn-Mar High School and Linn-Mar Youth Baseball player. He is currently a catcher for Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).



Fielding/Hitting Clinics will be $25 per session.

Pitching Clinics (8U-10U) will be no charge.

Pitching Clinics (11U-14U) will be $90 for the three sessions.

Catching Clinics will be $10/$20 dependent on ages.

Fees will be used to pay for instructors and equipment usage.

There is a $0.99 fee for all transactions (ACH bank transfer is recommended).

A credit card may also be used, but will incur an additional 2% transaction fee.
